Who is John Montesante?
A passionate, driven and many-faceted artist of phenomenal creative energy, John Montesante first came to national attention in Australia as a singular Jazz Musician and Arranger in his twenties. Playing Trumpet, Flugel and Keyboards, he later founded Australia’s pre-eminent 14 piece Soul-RnB outfit Grand Wazoo—Legendary Kings of Soul in 1981, while retaining his abiding passion for Jazz. Next he introduced his 20 piece 40s-60s Big Band, JM's Café Society Orchestra, then in 1990, formed the John Montesante Quintet, performing BeBop & Standards with some of the best players in the country. Available for Festivals, Concerts, Venues, Corporate and Private events, his Bands are reputed for their musical quality and unmatched experience.
